Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon: Puppy Love

Enjoying every minute of their Aspen vacation, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were spotted with a new furry friend yesterday (December 22).

The “Always Be My Baby” songstress and her handsome hubby proudly held a new pet puppy for the paparazzi while out and about shopping.

Earlier this week, Mariah gave back to the Colorado community when she visited with 35 abused and neglected kids at the Aspen Recreation Center.

Administrator Jude Liguori-Oliver told press, “This is an opportunity they haven’t had before. Many of these kids haven’t been out of Denver. A lot of them haven’t been in the mountains. It was just all about the kids. We are very grateful. Mariah is a celebrity that gives back.”

Jas jetted to ‘sin city’ for Mariah and Nick’s anniversary

I RECENTLY flew out to Vegas to attend my Christmas cousin Mariah Carey Cannon and her hubby Mr Nick Cannons’s first wedding anniversary celebrations. That first night in Vegas, myself, Mrs Cannon and a couple of other girl friends stayed up until 7am, catching up and splashing around in the pool. And it wasn’t a regular hotel rooftop jacuzzi/pool. Oh no! We were on another level – literally! The pool protruded from the side of the building in mid-air, overlooking the magically colourful Vegas strip, and was made of glass so you felt as if you were swimming in the middle of the airspace. It was amazing! That night, Mariah asked a couple of us to say a few words at the pre-anniversary party dinner the next night. Normally, it’s hard to shut me up. However, the thought of speaking to a room of VVVIP’S was at the very least, daunting! I had my mate put it into perspective for me. I was advised to just talk about Mariah and Nick and why their love was meant to be from my perspective. I decided that after all the blessed moments I’ve had courtesy of MC over the years of our friendship, the least I could do was step up.

The next night, 40 very privileged people, including members of both Mariah and Nick’s families, head of Def Jam L.A. Reid, music legend Andre Harrell, singer Tyrese and myself arrived at a beautiful cocktail reception, followed by an amazingly scrumptious three-course dinner. The main was a mouthwatering surf and turf prime filet mignon, butter poached marine lobster, spring asparagus, red wine demi glace and macaroni and cheese. The dessert was a trio of creme brulee, molten chocolate cake, as well as ‘lovey dovey white wedding cake’.

I was so caught up in the breathtaking visuals of the evening, that when Mr C suddenly clinked his champagne glass and announced that a couple of people had a few words to say, I nearly passed out. It was my moment! I warned them that my speech would take at least 10 minutes, but asked them to bear with me. So I threw caution to the wind and just went for it, telling the room my favourite anecdotes about the couple and why they were soul mates. Every couple of lines, L.A. Reid heckled me, but by the end everyone was laughing and looking entertained, so I guess it went ok!

Then we were shooed down to the Moon Club where a lot more people like Floyd Mayweather and Sanaa Lathan were waiting for us; the party was about to go down! Nick began with a surprise for his wife: he projected a personalised version of the video for MC’s song, Love Story onto a huge screen. It was a documentary of their lovey dovey moments. As we all gulped with emotion, Mrs C actually cried. Really emotional big tears of joy! It was the first time I’ve ever seen her so choked up. It was a beautiful moment and she told the crowd she had the best man in the world.

Then, to kick off the party, Nick had the nightclub roof slide away (really), and thousands of pink and lavender balloons were released into the tropical Vegas night. Next, the couple cut their second giant white wedding cake of the night, before Nick took over the decks and played a hot party set with a rock moment, a grown and sexy set, and all the classics you’d expect, as well as Mrs C’s favourite song, Ante Up. At 4am, after the party, a few of us departed to the Cannons’ suite where Mariah played her soon-to-bereleased new album. (Can’t tell you title or I’m dead!) Then, I was formally introduced to the Canonns’ new puppy, Cha Cha. Next, we Twittered a bit, and then we slipped into our bikinis to float in the once in a lifetime pool again until 7am when we called it a night – or should that be day? Whatever!

The next day was filled with power naps, shopping, picture taking around the Vegas Strip and the odd dalliance with the slot machines!

The following evening, Vegas was on fire as every flossy celeb flew in for the Ricky Hatton fight. P Diddy, Jay-Z, Denzel Washington, Jack Nicholson, Cedric the Entertainer, Christian Bale and many others were in the house, along with myself and a load of initially hopeful Brits who were supporting Ricky!

The next morning, we jumped on the Cannons’ jet and it was wheels up, outta Vegas! Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs C – you are blessed!

The Marvellous Jack brings you a new exclusive! The first picture of Cha Cha, named before as Allie which was sold to Nick Cannon for his wife **MARIAH CAREY** for her Birthday!

Her new name is now CHA CHA:

As you can see in the picture, Cha Cha is all white with tan markings on her head. She has a smooth coat and will be approx. 11" to 13" at the shoulder and 11 to 13 lbs. when grown.

Nick Cannon Buys Mariah a Jack Russell Terrier for First Anniversary

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon - who celebrate their one-year anniversary in May - are prepping for parenthood: They bought a dog.

"I got her a short-haired Jack Russell terrier -- a girl, named Cha-Cha. She's 8 weeks," Cannon, 28, told Usmagazine.com Saturday at a concert in Coconut Grove, Fla.

He and Carey, 39, secretly wed in Eleuthera in the Bahamas last spring.

Cannon said being married to Carey is "the most amazing thing ever. I couldn't wish for anything else. She's the most incredible woman. Being in a strong union and being there for each other is something that I'd never really experienced before, so to experience it with my wife is remarkable. We're together as one, and that's important to me."

He was mum on their anniversary plans, but told Us, "We never went on a honeymoon, so I guess I can tell you we'll probably go to Barbados."

Asked if there are any babies in the near future, he laughed.

J.J. earns a "Relly" Nomination

The nominees in the "Best Non-Human Guest" category at the 6th Annual Relly Awards will be presented on Live with Regis and Kelly on Tuesday, August 26th. Mariah's dog J.J. who appeared on the show and showed off his roll over to the audience's delight on April 25th is one of the nominees vying for the award! Boo Boo, the world's smallest dog and Wall-E, the robot from the animated Disney film are among the early-announced nominees.

Online voting for the "Best Non-Human Guest" award will be on Tuesday, August 26th immediately following the Regis & Kelly show. VOTE FOR J.J.!

Mariah in Aspen

As the thermometer gets lower, and the nights get colder, what`s a diva to do in order to stay warm? Looks like Mariah Carey will be snuggling up with her new puppy, just in time for Christmas.

The pop diva was spotted outside of her parent`s jewelry store in Aspen, Colorado over the weekend. And she was showing off her new canine pal.

Reportedly, the “Always Be My Baby” singer spent a lengthy five hours inside the Joan Boyce store. And for Mariah, it was nothing but the best.

She sipped cocktails and tried on all kinds of bling-bling during her half-day stay at the store. And as she left, Carey posed for the paps before slipping on the icy sidewalk. Thankfully, she had a bodyguard to catch her fall.

Mariah Carey's Pooch is the King of her World

If there’s one male that can make songbird Mariah Carey dance to his tune, then that would be her pet pooch Jackson P Muttley.

Carey’s Jack Russell terrier not only flies first class when the two travel, but is also so famous that Japanese Fans have set up a website in his honour.

And, the "Emancipation of Mimi" singer’s pooch not only has his say when it comes to travelling, but is also the lord of the house as well.

"He’s a very masculine dog," Hello magazine quoted the singer, as saying.

Unlike most dogs, Carey revealed that Jackson loved water, and that he has a penchant for bubble baths and water jets.

"If I’m running a bath, all of a sudden I’ll hear a splash and Jack will have jumped into the tub. His favorite toy is a jet - like the ones you find in pools and hot-tubs. He continually dives under the water and tries to bite the water coming out of the jets," she added.

Mariah Carey has done a lot of silly things but perhaps nothing beats the time when she arranged a cross-country limo ride for her dog and racked up on #16 most outrageous celebrity extravagance.

Chris Rovzar, NY Daily News: "Mariah loves her Jack Russell Terrier, Jack, and the two of them are inseparable. He had appeared in several of her videos. He's everywhere that she is."

In 2005, Mariah took pet ownership to new extremes. It all started when the canine-craving diva was stranded at a video shoot in L.A. and she was desperate for a little doggy companionship. Meanwhile, Jack was pining away in their New York penthouse. And while most pet owners would just suck it up, Mariah called her travel agent.

Jonah Weiner, Blender Magazine: "So Mariah has her dog brought to the airport. She wants him put in a first-class seat and they tell her, 'We can't do that, it's a dog'."

Jack might have been grounded but not for long. Mariah quickly arranged for a chauffeured limousine to drive her doggy 3,000 miles cross-country to L.A. and drive home one of the most unfathomable pop star expenses ever.

The jovial manager, Claudel Romney, ushers me inside where Mariah Carey spent five weeks writing her hit CD The Emancipation of Mimi. "She slept all day," he says of the disco diva, "and at night she felt creative after spending hours in the Jacuzzi."

Not hard when you bring $10,000 worth of equipment and a gaggle of personal assistants and sound technicians. She hired one boat for her luggage. A personal trainer came from nearby St. Bart's, and gourmet dog food was brought in for Jack, her treasured Jack Russell.

"Mariah is a delightful young lady who loves our eggplant Parmesan," Jacquie Ruan, owner of the superstar-friendly Ripples restaurant, says with a smile. "Naomi Campbell also eats here, and contrary to all the naughty stories is lovely and extremely courteous."

Jack Sick?

According to a fan who attended the Phoenix show, part of "The Adventures of Mimi" tour, one of Mariah's dancer told her that Jack was there but he was on his way out. They had to take him to the veterinarian, so it sounded like Jack was sick. So, please keep him in our prayers and get well soon Jack!!

In a recent issue of In Touch Weekly, the mag ranked Tinkerbell second on its list of pampered pets. Jessica Simpson’s Maltipoo Daisy took the top spot on the list.

Jack's Cameo on Mariah's New Video

EXTRA and Access Hollywood were behind the scenes with Mariah as she filmed her tongue-in-cheek vignettes that will air during "The Adventures of Mimi" tour.

Director Spike Lee helped out Mariah crack a few jokes on herself. The vignettes are about Mariah's tight dresses, her breasts, her nervous breakdown, etc. Nothing was off-limits. Mariah said, "I want all that stuff in. Basically, it's NOT taking yourself too seriously."

I'm coming to NYC for the concert that Mariah is giving at the Madison Square Garden on Aug. 23rd, 2006 and I'm going to make this fanbook dedicated to Jack!! Last year, I added a banner at the top of this section since it was rumored that Mariah would be on tour and she finally was not. Since she is going on tour FINALLY this Summer, make sure you send your entries to this email address in order to take part of it! This is going to be a different fanbook, pleace notice that this is not a fanbook for Mariah, but for Jack!! So it would be great if you send pictures with your adorable and marvellous pets!! Mariah Step Out With Man's Best Friend

Jaw-dropping vocal powers aren't the only things Charlotte Church and Mariah Carey have in common, as the two singers also share a fondness for man's best friend. The chart-topping pair, who have both enjoyed dramatic career comebacks in recent times, showed their affection for their furry companions when they stepped out on Tuesday afternoon.

Mariah was accompanied by her four-legged friend Jack when she arrived for an MTV awards ceremony in New York. The 35-year-old, who usually wears skimpy gowns to showbiz events, was looking rather more demure in jeans and a cropped black top. Her canine companion was dressed to impress, however, in a specially-made green velvet jacket with an orange fur-trimmed hood.

And it would appear his A-list owner isn't the only one smitten with the pooch, as a group of Japanese fans have set up a website in his honour. "I laughed out loud for ten minutes when I found out about Jack's website," revealed the glamorous chanteuse. "He really is a very cool dog. It talks all about him - like his swimming antics - on his website. They love Jack."

Across the pond in Britain, meanwhile, Charlotte was spending some quality time with her pedigree pal. The Crazy Chick singer was cradling her pet puppy in her arms when she emerged from the house in Cardiff she shares with rugby ace Gavin Henson. "Gavin bought me a dog, a little Jack Russell," said the 20-year-old. "She's called Tina. She cried all night last night and I had to look after her."

Mariah Carey is tired of keeping secrets. In the March issue of Marie Claire she talks about growing up poor, her so-called "breakdown," the only unconditional love she’s ever known (his name is Jack), the truth about "sleeping around," and what could be the record-breaking year of her life.

Jack Wins the WUDA Award

The World Urban Doggy Award (WUDA) was established in 2005 to recognize the outstanding talent in dog energy and love.

It is considered one of the world's most prestigious awards. For the 2005 award, 41 submissions were received from worldwide journalists, veterinarians, fashion designers....
The WUDA recognizes an accomplished career as true and loyal friend, and the real contribution to the dog community.

Gilles Ollevier, CEO of the WUDA, is proud to honor Jackson P. Mutley with the first WUDA award.

Mariah & Jack at the "Grammy Soundcheck"

The picture bellow is from a "Grammy SoundCheck" event with Mariah Carey (who brought Jack) and Randy Jackson that was held on November 18, 2005, at the Center Staging Musical Productions in Burbank, California.

NBC's The Insider revealed yesterday that actor Matthew McConaughey has been named "sexiest man alive" by People magazine. The Insider asked Destiny's Child who they thought was the sexiest man alive as well as Mariah Carey. Mariah's answer was hilarious!

Yeah, you read it right! And that's me! Well, I don't know Jack in person, but I wish I could! The current issue of the US OK! Magazine includes an interview with me about this website. He seems very naughty, intelligent, and playful. Jack and Mariah share a special bond.

Could you suggest a gift for Jack's birthday?
Any bouncing object he could play with, especially a tennis ball.

What does Mariah think of the site?
I had the chance to show her the designs for the site and she loved them. Sometimes she sends me messages about Jack through my friend Ash in the UK.

Which celeb pet would make the ideal mate for Jack?
I would probably say Pari Hilton's Chihuahua, as they're both very famous. They could do well sharing their fame.

k9 Interview - World Exclusive: The Most successful Female Artist Of All Time Tells Us About Life With Jack

Hello Mariah, thank you so much for taking the time to speak with us

Tell us about your pets. Names, breeds and ages.
My pet's name is Jack. He's a Jack Russell who can swim underwater, jump four feet in the air and he is eternally two years old. His full name is Jackson P. Mutley.

Why the full name?
[Laughs] It's kind of a long story. The name evolved overtime. I don't even know what the P stands for but I guess you can imagine. I don't know.

When did your interest in pets/animals begin and how long have you been a pet owner.
Well my mom always had pets and so there were always animals around and there's never been a time in my life where I didn't have a pet. I had dogs and cats and even birds. My mom's parrot bit me (laughs) and he used to torment me by saying my name like my mother would when for example she was calling me to come downstairs. So in the middle of the night the bird would be shrieking "Mariah!".

Your latest album "The Emancipation Of Mimi" has had some fantastic reviews and has been a huge success, what would you say is your favourite track from the album and why?
I have a lot of different favourite tracks because they're all representative of different moods but I really love "Shake It Off". Obviously, "We Belong Together" has a special significance for me - you know just being the success that it has been and the emotional vibe in the song. I would also say that my favourite song is "Fly Like A Bird" which is the last song on the album and a favourite because it has a very spiritual message and it's close to my heart.

We've heard your favourite childhood memories are various junior high antics, can you recall a specific moment which you would like to tell our readers?
Well, one time I was 12 years old I dyed my hair orange by mistake and it looked really hideous. My hair was blonde when I was little but it started getting darker so I started using Sun in which is supposed to bring out in the highlights in your hair. However, I didn't know about the whole technical side of hair colouring as I hadn't been to beauty school yet.

Anyway, it made my hair kind of orange, so then I tried to correct the colour and went to the store with my friend to buy a golden blonde dye. I didn't realise though that anything that says gold means it's a red base! So I used this dye and was blow drying my hair with an orange blow dryer when my friend yelled "Your hair is the colour of the blow dryer!"

I then walked outside and there was this kid there that I had a crush on and he was like "What happened to your hair?" It was a totally a bleak moment. On top of that I had also shaved my eyebrows because I didn't know that you were supposed to tweeze them and the only make up I really had was reject stuff from my mother so I had no eyebrows, hideous make-up with blue eyeliner and orange hair - not a good look (laughs).

In which one way do you believe dogs to be a superor life from humans?
They don't judge others.

Will you ever bring Jack to London?
I would love to but there are rules about quarantine for animals and I don't think that it'd be right to do that to him. It's 6 months - I'd never do that to him.

Does Jack ever bite or chew your shoes?
Jack doesn't bite shoes - he's very smart and knows better than that.

You've received numerous prestigious awards over the years including two Grammy's, 8 American Music awards and were also named "World's Best Selling Female Artist Of The Millenium" which must have been a huge moment. How did you feel when you received your very first award and what were the thoughts which went through your mind when your name was called?
I don't think I was fully aware of that moment because so much was going on and I didn't really take it in. I knew that it was a big deal but it just happened so fast and I was really nervous too.

It was said some time ago on a well known British sitcom that the perfect woman have Kylie Minogue's bum, Claudia Schiffer's legs and Cindy Crawford's face. Using this logic, can you please create your own perfect fantasy dog?
There is no better dog than Jack. How could you make a dog better than Jack! (laughs)

Tell us about the Relly Award that Jack was recently nominated for?
Well Jack was nominated for this Relly Award on the Regis and Kelly show for Best Non-Human guest. The nominees were Chewbacca, Miss Piggy, Barney, a two headed albino snake and my dog Jack. I thought that it was so cool that Jack was being nominated for an award and that people all over the world were finally going to be able to see the splendour of him. So there I was being so excited for Jack and then all of a sudden I found out that Miss Piggy won the award! I'm really seriously demanding a recount because I think that some trickery went on!!! (Laughs)

What did Jack do when he was on the show?
Well Jack was with me for an interview. He's like a person and he just knows when the cameras go on. He starts hamming it up and jumping up and down. On Regis and Kelly his personality just shone though, I think that when the viewers saw him on the show they realised that he was special - I mean he received a nomination against mainly fictitious characters. He was the only real animal - other than the 2 headed snake.

Jack's used to the limelight though and he loves being on set. He's actually been in quite a few of my videos including "DreamLover", "All I Want For Christmas Is You", "Always Be My Baby", "Honey", "Thank God I Found You", "Against All Odds" and "Boy I Need You". He loves walking around the wardrobe department, he likes the dog equivalent of hair and make-up (grooming). He is a star.

Which do you prefer and why?
Big dogs or little dogs - That's what I love about Jack. He's like a big dog in a small dog's body. Also he's very strong and very muscular but small enough that he can lie in a bed and small enough that I can take him out with me easily.

Pedigree dogs or x breeds - It really depends on the dog.

Lead and collar or dog running free - Dog running free but the problem is my dog gets a little excited (laughs) and he needs to have his harness on all the time because you don't want him to choke with the collar. He happily wears the harness and likes it so if he gets carried away or if he stays in the pool to long it'll help us get him out.

What is your earliest memory of dogs?
When I was little my parents were breeding Dobermans and when I was about four the dog had puppies. I remember all the different puppies. My parents gave the puppies away but kept one which we called Bruno.

Describe the last time you...
Had to shout at your pet - I try not to shout at him.
Laughed out loud because of your petTrained your pet to do something new - Well we're working on him being more gentle when I hand him a treat. (He got used to me accepting the fact that he's impatient when he wants a treat, and you know, he's got some sharp teeth). He's just learning to calm down and allow me to give him the treat nicely otherwise he's not going to get it. He's doing ok too but it depends on his mood...

What is it about Jack's personality that makes him so special?
He is almost like a person, we have this thing where we say Jack is a person because it's like he'll just hang out and want to be almost a part of the conversation - just sitting around and watching. He's a very spiritual animal, he has a lot of zest and he's fun. In fact he's almost like a circus dog with all the tricks that he does. The other side of him is that when he's laying down and you pet him he's very loving. He's a good dog, a good boy.

What is Jack's favourite toy, activity, game?
Jack is a swimmer so he gets obssessed with anything to do with water even if I'm taking a shower he'll try to knock on the door and come and stand in the shower. If I'm running a bath all of a sudden I'll hear a spash and Jack will have jumped into the tub! It's something that's been happening for years and it's like "Jack's in the tub again!" and there he is swimming around!

His favourite toy is the jet inside the pool - like the jets you find in pools and hot tubs. He treats that as his toy and continuously dives under the water and tries to bite the water coming out of the jet. As far as other toys go you can't get Jack anything that's too easy to rip apart because he's got very strong teeth. He has a toy steak. It's a fake looking T-bone that's really tough to rip apart. It has lasted a while but I think that it's finally on the way out.

What about Jack's bad habits?
Well... Lately he's been sneaking out of the gate. There's a railing on the side of the kitchen in the house in Los angeles and I thought that I could leave him out there so that he could run free in this little area - and he was really enjoying himself running after little geckos and stuff. Then one day I was out in the back and I see Jack coming out of nowhere and I realise that he had snuck under the fence and run straight for the pool and jumped in. So now I can't let him stay out there anymore because there are coyotes and things. Instead he's given supervised pool time.

Who is your hero?
I thought this was about dogs? Ok Jack's my hero.

Would you describe Jack as a "people-dog"?
Definitely. He loves people. Sometimes he plays rough as he grew up with Doberman Pinchers and thinks that he's bigger dog than he is.

Three Websites Not Enough to Make Mariah's Pooch Famous!

"Most celebs have only one website for themselves, and that is enough to attract millions of hits daily and define their star power, but for pop diva, Mariah Carey’s pet pooch, even three are apparently not enough to get him a first class seat in a flight.

And this is what reportedly infuriated the singer recently, when she was told by an airline, that her dog was too big and not famous enough, for them to allow him to share a first class seat with her on a flight.

"They actually won’t let me put him on a first class seat because he§s too big.

"And they also said: `We’d only allow it for a famous dog.’ Please! He has three websites dedicated to him!" The Sun quoted Carey, as telling Glamour magazine.

Don't worry, she's joking. We think. The legendary Mariah Carey likes to make diva demands (even her sunglasses arrive on a silver tray). But behind the bling is a camp, witty and self-depreciating woman as Sylvia Patterson discovered when she spent the night in Castle Carey.

Exclusive: Jack is Making a Splash

SINGER Mariah Carey has passed her love of swimming on to her dog Jack ... and it has led to some messy bathroom incidents. The diva, who is besotted with the two-year old Jack Russell, often has to fight him for the bath.

She said: "If I'm running a bath all of a sudden I'll hear a splash and Jack will have jumped into the tub. "It's something that has been happening for ages - it's like 'Jack is in the tub again, swimming around'."The pampered pooch, who has appeared in a number of Mariah's videos, is not content with chasing sticks and toys.

Mariah said: "His favourite toy is a jet - like the ones you find in pools and hot-tubs.

"He continually dives under the water and tries to bite the water coming out of the jets."

Mariah's new single Get Your Number/Shake It Off is out on Monday.
